About Me
Hello there! My name is Skylar Staples and I am an aspiring PR professional. I am a senior at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Business. ​

Through my collegiate experience, I have gained a deep understanding of the world of communications. At UT, I have gained a wide variety of PR skills such as utilizing AP style, creating press releases, analyzing data, media planning, and PR's place within the media field. My minor in business gives me analytical skills and knowledge of markets and finance, which is especially significant when looking at the B2B/B2C aspect of PR and understanding your clients.

Professionally, I have experience in several different areas of communication through internships, making me a skillful and versatile candidate for any role. I have worked with a range of companies from a boutique marketing firm, where I analyzed SEO and SEM assets for major clients like Stanford Health and Milan Fitness, to a global technology company, where I held multiple roles in Internal Communications, PR, and Social Media. At this internship, I was challenged with articulating technological jargon for public audiences and reiterating the objectives and culture of the company.
In the future, I am excited to apply my education and experience to help facilitate campaigns and communicate to different audiences in an applicable way.
